Alice A. Haverick

Alice A. Haverick, 83, of Shavertown passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.


She was born in Nanticoke, a daughter of the late Adam and Della Drobnicki

Gardecki.  Alice was a graduate of Lake Lehman High School and Luzerne County Community College, where she received her associates degree in nursing.


She was formerly employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at several nursing homes.  She was later employed as the director of housekeeping at ALF in

Kingston and later at the Meadows Nursing Home in Dallas, prior to her retirement.


Alice was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved to spend time with her family.  She loved animals, especially her dog, Beethoven.  Alice also loved horses and owned a riding stable in Jackson Township.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Haverick on September 17, 1974 and by her brother, Adam Gardecki.


Alice is survived by her daughters, Alison M. Krakosky and her husband, Kenneth, Wilkes-Barre and Holly A. Winters and her husband, Ronald, Mountain Top; companion and friend, Bernard Fruchtman; grandchildren, Laura, Andrea, Robbie, Erica, Ashley and Sydney; great grandchildren, Audrey, Austin, Rowan, Scarlett and Berkeley; brother, John Bombick and his wife, Cheryl, Shavertown; and niece, Brittany Bombick.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 5 pm from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.  The Very Reverend Lucian Urbaniak will officiate.


Friends may call from 4 – 5 pm at the funeral home on Saturday.
