Anna Victoria Sufrinko

Anna Victoria Sufrinko, 96, of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away on Saturday at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

 

She was born in Wilkes-Barre Township, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Chakon Horvath.  Anna attended Wilkes-Barre Township High School.  Prior to her retirement she was employed by the Holiday Inn.  She previously worked at Hess & Goldsmith’s and the Sterling Hotel.

 

Anna was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish at St. Mary’s Church of the Immaculate Conception, Wilkes-Barre.  Prior to its closing she had been a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Slovak Church in Wilkes-Barre.

 

She was preceded in death by her step-son, George Klimovich in 2006 and by her grandson, Daniel Faust in 1992.  Anna was also preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Evans, Mary Walushen and Helen and Florence Horvath and by her brothers, Andrew and Michael Horvath.

 

Surviving are her son, Philip Sufrinko and his wife, Loretta, Wilkes-Barre Township and her daughter, Annette Dixon and her husband, Edward, Wilkes-Barre Township, with whom she resided.  Anna is also survived by her grandchildren, Warren Faust and his wife, Renee, Edward Dixon, Amy Petrosky and her husband, Luke, Kathryn Schiel and her husband, Gary, Nicholas Sufrinko, Eric Klimovich and Bridget Blatz and her husband, Steven; great grandchildren, D.J. Faust, Zachary Faust, Amanda Tulanowski, Joseph Blatz, Garrett Schiel, Liszka Dixon, Caden Schiel, Tyler Faust, Ashton Schiel, Matthew Faust, Gary Blatz, Jacob Blatz, Elizabeth Blatz and Harper Schiel; nieces and nephews.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 9:30 am in Our Lady of Fatima Parish at St. Mary’s Church of the Immaculate Conception, 134 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre.  Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dallas.

 

Family and friends may call at the Church on Thursday from 9 – 9:30 am.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
