Arthur L. Honeywell

Arthur Honeywell, a longtime resident of the Heights section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018.

 

Arthur was born in Wilkes-Barre on March 20, 1921, the son of Joseph L. and Winifred (Minnie) Weigel Honeywell. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II.

 

Arthur was very well known in the wholesale produce business in Wilkes-Barre and Scranton for many years.

 

He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, formerly, Christ Lutheran Church. While at Christ Lutheran Church, he served on the church council, the Duo Club and was a member of their bowling team.

 

Arthur was predeceased by his wife Kathleen (Kay), sons-in-law Dale C. Rinker and Donald E. Moss.

 

He is survived by his children: Arleen Rinker, Williamsburg, VA; Sandy Moss, Pine Valley, NY; Ron Honeywell and his spouse, David Foust, Wilkes-Barre; Bob Honeywell and his companion, Carmella Gibbons, Hunlock Creek; grandchildren: Heather (Tony) Carroll, Christopher (Joya) Rinker, Stephanie (Ryan) Kopaniasz, Jason ( fiancé Sharyn Mann), and Melissa and Gregory Honeywell. He also has 14 great grandchildren.

 

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 11 AM from the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 190 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701. Rev. Peter Kuritz and Rev. Janell Wigen will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

 

The family would like to thank the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, particularly the Home Based Program.

 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
