Obituaries » Barbara L. Tomchak October 14, 2022 Barbara L. Tomchak October 14, 2022 Barbara L. Tomchak, 59, of Edwardsville passed away unexpectantly on Friday October 14, 2022 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was born in Hanover Township, the daughter of the late Alfred G. and Catherine Nat Tomchak. She was a graduate of Hanover Area High School, and was a licensed cosmetologist. She owned and operated her own beauty salon for many years. She was currently employed as a crossing guard at Wyoming Valley West State Street School. Barbara enjoyed hiking, being with family and friends, doing hair, collecting things, trivia, and music. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She loved Nugget the dog. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Danielle Tomchak. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Tomchak, Kingston and by her grandchildren, Loralei & Kayla Tomchak, Andrew Steinberg, Tyler, Nico and Chad Beale; her fiance`, Jeremy Gourley and numerous cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Barbara’s life on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 11am – 12 pm at the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. A funeral luncheon will be held immediately following the celebration of life at Margarita Azul Restaurant, 91 Parrish Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
