Barbara Marsellas

Barbara Marsellas, 81, formerly of S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021, in Residential Hospice at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by her loving family.


She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Daniel Vital and Gertrude Conklin Wint.  Barbara was a graduate of Hanover Township High School.  Prior to her retirement, she had been employed for many years at the RCA Corp. in Mountain Top.  Barbara was also employed at the Catherine McAuley House in Plymouth.


Barbara was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church, where she donated her time and talents, cooking and cleaning in the school cafeteria.


Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.  She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.


She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Marsellas in 1994 and by her brothers, Daniel George Vital and William Wint; her great grandson, Dylan and a nephew, Joseph.


Surviving are her daughters, Barbara McKenna and her husband, Gary, Newark Valley, NY; Sharon Hicks, Kingston; Denise Stoudnour and her husband, Scott, Auburndale, FL; Lisa Pickett and her husband, Joseph, Mountain Top and her son, George Marsellas and his wife, Pattie, Hanover Township.  She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; God Daughter, Ranee Lewis; brother, Joseph Wint and his wife, Janet, Dorrance Township and by her nieces and nephews.


Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church, Barney and Division Streets, Wilkes-Barre.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.


Friends may call from 5 – 8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
