Betty Jane Lukasavage

Betty Jane Lukasavage of Wilkes-Barre, PA passed away peacefully on March 12th, 2019 at Guardian Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Nanticoke, PA. She was born on February 17th, 1933 in Wilkes-Barre, PA and was a life-long resident. She graduated from Coughlin High School.


Betty married her husband Peter in 1955 and they had three sons together. They were married for 63 wonderful years.


Betty was an excellent baker and known for her amazing birthday cakes. She had a knack for decorating them and was very skilled and creative. She was also an amazing cook and would host her sons and their families for many Saturday dinners over the years.


Betty was preceded in death by her parents, John and Beatrice Keyes, husband Peter Lukasavage in June 2018, brothers Jerry Keyes, Jack Keyes, Bobby Keyes and sister Elanore Andes.


She is survived by her three sons; Peter, wife Cindy, Havre de Grace, MD; Kenneth, wife, Eileen, Little River, SC; and Michael, wife, Maria, Dallas, PA. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Taylor, Michael, Matthew and Morgan; along with her brothers; John Keyes, wife Elaine, Mountain Top, PA; Donny Keyes, wife Angie, Tarpin Springs, FL., and sister-in-law Patricia Keyes, Plains, PA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.


The family would like to extend their thanks to Guardian Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for their care.


Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 1 pm from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.  Rev. Carol E. Coleman will officiate.  Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.


Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 am – 1 pm.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
