Carl D. Mangold

Carl D. Mangold, 75, of Hanover Township, passed away on April 25th, in Celtic Hospice at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by his family.

 

He was born in Wilkes-Barre on January 1, 1943, the son of the late Carl and Grace Andreas Mangold.

 

He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1961. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

 

Carl was employed by IBEW Local 163 as an electrician for 23 years and later was employed at Fairchild Semi-Conductor, Mountain Top, as an electrician until the time of his death.

 

Carl enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved immensely. He enjoyed many pleasurable hours boating with his wife and his family at Lake Wallenpaupack.

 

Surviving are his wife, Deborah Bugjo Mangold, the love of his life; children, Sheila Butcher and her husband Paul, Dallas, Carl Mangold and his wife Colleen, Harrisburg; step-daughters, Karen Kane and her husband Jason, Amy Dunbar, Georgette Wielgosz and her husband Brian; grandchildren, Cali Butcher, Kaitlyn Butcher, Carl Jackson Mangold; step-grandchildren, Mia Kane, Owen Wielgosz, Ethan Wielgosz, Noah Dunbar, and Olivia Dunbar; sister, Karen Orzello and her husband Richard, Pittston; several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his best buddies Oscar and Bo.

 

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.

 

Friends may call on Friday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial donations can be made in Carl’s name to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
