Obituaries » Carol Ann (Monto) Hurley April 20, 2023 Carol Ann (Monto) Hurley April 20, 2023 Carol Ann (Monto) Hurley, 74, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre. Carol was born in Wilkes-Barre, the daughter of the late Leonard Getty and Gladys Mae Norton Monto. She was a graduate of G.A.R. High School, class of 1966. She was employed as a secretary at the PA Office of Vocational Rehabilitation in Wilkes-Barre. Carol was a member of the Luzerne County Sports Hall of Fame, where she served as its secretary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hurley in 2008. Surviving are her brothers, Leonard Monto and his wife, Ruth, Duncansville and David Monto and his wife, Mary Alice, Mechanicsburg; nephews, Matt Monto and his wife, Laura and their daughters, Megan and Sarah, and Jeff Monto; and her cat, Gerbie. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with Rev. Dr. Robert Zanicky, officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday morning from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
