Charlotte Gray

September 11, 2021

Charlotte Gray, 69, of Hanover Township, passed away at the Kingston Health Care Center, following a long battle with kidney disease.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late J. Paul and Elizabeth (Joseph) Thomas.  Charlotte was a 1970 graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School.

Charlotte was employed in the food service department for the Hanover Area School District at Hanover Memorial Elementary, a job that she loved.  Following her retirement, she returned to stay at home taking of her grandchildren. This was her most favorite job.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, sithoo/eboo, aunt and friend.  Charlotte treated everyone like her own children, there was always plenty of food and love for anyone who visited her home.  She could plan a party like no one else.

Charlotte loved Hanover Area sports and cheering on “her kids”.  Most of all she loved her grandchildren’s basketball and baseball games.

She is survived by her husband, Fred F. Gray with whom she celebrated her 50th  wedding anniversary on August 14, 2021.  She is also survived by her children, Jennifer Keller and her husband, Bill, Wilkes-Barre; Jeff Gray and his wife, Melinda, Winter Park, FL and Kelly Kablick and her husband, John, Hanover Township; grandchildren, Mason Gray, Sydney and Tyler Keller and Cole and Camden Kablick.

Charlotte’s family would like to thank Amie Sattof, the staff at Kingston Health Care Center, Becky Peters and Compassionate Care Hospice for their loving care.

A memorial service and celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held on Tuesday at 7 pm from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Rev. Shawn Walker will officiate.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 – 7 pm at the funeral home.
