Dolores (DeDe) A. Gonda Letteer

Dolores (DeDe) A. Gonda Letteer, 82, of Heather Highlands, Jenkins Township, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Allied Services Center City Skilled Nursing, Wilkes-Barre.

 

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late John M. Gonda Sr. and Emily (Cromer) Gonda.  DeDe was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, class of 1956.

 

She was employed for many years as a supervisor with the Social Security Administration.  She was also employed by the Wilkes-Barre Area School District, LAZ Parking and the Tony Thomas’s Deli.

 

DeDe enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards, but what brought her the most joy was when she would call her family and friends to sing Happy Birthday.  She brought joy to everyone she met and loved.

 

DeDe was a very special person with a heart of gold.

 

She was preceded in death by her brother, John M. Gonda Jr.; brothers-in-law, Robert Fino and Jack Giomboni and nephew, Jarrod Giomboni.

 

DeDe is survived by her children, Lance Letteer and his wife, Linda, Wilkes-Barre, Lynn Kocher and her husband, Michael, Shavertown and Renee Womack and her husband, Carl, Bothell, WA; grandchildren, Lauren Letteer, Swoyersville, Lance M. Letteer, Wilkes-Barre, Karlisa Womack, Bothell, WA and Alysia Snyder, Wilkes-Barre; great grandchildren, Khloey and Garrett Lamoreaux and Kassidy Kocher; sisters, Joan Fino, Plains, Sophie Pelak, Luzerne, Linda Giomboni, Plains and Janice Pierce and her husband, James, Wilkes-Barre; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

 

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.  Entombment will be in Mary Mother of God Mausoleum at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
