Donna Klein

June 15, 2022

Donna Klein, 79, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.  The caring and compassionate nurses and staff were wonderful.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Burgit Morton. Donna was a 1961 graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed in the collections department at Verizon.

Donna was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral in Wilkes-Barre.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her sister, Roberta Reilly.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Joseph Klein; sons, Joseph Klein, Jr., Hanover Township and Todd Klein, Wilkes-Barre; daughters-in-law, Maureen Rodgers, Wilkes-Barre and Kathy Klein, Hanover Township; grandchildren, Justin Klein and his wife Laura, Zachary Klein, Kaleigh Klein and Collin Klein; and great-grandson, Brody Klein.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

The family would like to thank her caring and compassionate nurses Heather Colburne, who cared for her for more than five years while she was living in Chincoteague, VA, and Michelle Weiner, and Pricilla Hefferman from Bright Star, who cared for while in Wilkes-Barre.  They took such wonderful care of Donna.

Donna and Joe spent a great portion of their lives in Chincoteague.  After retirement, they lived there permanently, where she enjoyed the ocean, their boat and everything about beach life.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 P.M. in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral, 35 S. Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Timothy Alleman, Rector will officiate. Friends may call at the church prior to the service on Monday from 11 am – 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Donna’s memory to the SPCA or the Disabled American Veteran.
