Obituaries » Dr. Kimberly A. Coley August 3, 2022 Dr. Kimberly A. Coley August 3, 2022 Dr. Kimberly A. Coley, Ph.D., 62, of Sugar Notch, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. She was born in Plains, a daughter of the late Edward J. and Anne Wanek Wilk. Kim was a 1978 graduate of Coughlin High School. She was a 1981 graduate of the Wilkes-Barre Vocational Technical School of Practical Nursing, where she received her LPN. In 2000 she received her BSN from Wilkes University. Kim later received her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Wilkes University in 2007. In 2019 she received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Carlow University in Pittsburgh. She was employed for many years at the Mercy Hospital and at Geisinger as a Nursing Educator. She was proud to share her talent and knowledge with her nursing students. Kim was preceded in death by her soulmate and love of her life, Robert M. Coley, in 1996. She was a devoted mother, who raised two loving sons, who will always cherish her memory. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Kim is survived by her two sons, Christopher Coley and his wife, Hailey, Dupont, and Cameron Coley, Sugar Notch. She is also survived by her grandson, Luke Coley, and by cousins and her many dear friends, especially Christopher Gallagher of Atlanta, Georgia. Kim and her sons wish to thank her dear friend and companion, Christopher Gallagher, for his care and devotion. They also extend a special thank you to her fellow nurse educators for all their love and support over the years and especially during her illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 am in Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call on Monday from 8:30 am until 10 am at the church. Parking is available in the church’s parking lots located behind the church on South Hancock Street.
