Edward Grenevicki

March 22, 2022

This is not a marking of his death but a celebration of his life. Edward Grenevicki, Big Ed to most, was a strong and powerful force while he lived his 84 years. He was born and raised in Brookside. A loyal son who worked on the farm every summer in upstate New York with his mom and siblings. A teenage baseball player who pitched more than one no-hitter and was coaching as early as age 14. A basketball player with his best friend Pete Gozick causing havoc under the net. Worked at Prestige Shoes where he met his love and soulmate Elaine. Worked at Metro Wire until he got his dream job – being a cop. He served on the Wilkes-Barre Police Dept. retiring as Sergeant. He loved golfing, hunting and fishing. And he loved his family. Travelled and enjoyed great times with his wife and best friends Pete and Louise Gozick. He was the best Daddy Lisa and Suzanne could ever ask for and a loving Pop to Joseph, Rachel and Taylor. So many call him friend. So many call him family. And he will live on in our hearts. Enjoy heaven Eddie, Dad, Pop. Until we meet again.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Elaine George Grenevicki; daughters, Lisa Nelson (Atlantic City, NJ) and Suzanne and Joseph Longo (Hughestown); grandchildren, Joseph Longo (Hughestown), Rachel Longo (NYC) and Taylor Nelson (NYC); sisters-in-law, Carol Wargo (Wilkes-Barre), Hazle and Cletus Demellier (Wilkes-Barre) and Linda George (Wilkes-Barre Township); and brother-in-law, Leland and Kathy George (Knoxville). Preceded in death by his brother, Alex Lumpinski (Milford, CT), sisters Agnes Danish (Elizabeth, NJ) and Helen Galli (Pittston); and brothers-in-law Edward George; Clayton George; and Toby Wargo.

A Funeral service will take place at 11:30 A.M. Monday March 28, 2022 from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home 89 Park Ave. Wilkes-Barre. Friends may call Monday morning from 10:00 A.M. till time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Dallas, PA.
