Elaine George Grenevicki

Elaine George Grenevicki has shed her earthly body for a golden crown and white robe, rejoicing on the golden streets of heaven. She has joined the love of her life, Ed Grenevicki. She’s at peace and just where she wants to be. Elaine was born in Laurel Run, the oldest of six. She graduated from Wilkes-Barre Township High School in 1953. She honed her skills in sewing for various shoe factories and then raised her daughters and became a great Grammy to her three grandchildren.

 

A lifetime member of Laurel Run PM Church, she was known for her strong faith. This brings comfort to all because we know she is with the Lord. Elaine and her sisters, Carol and Hazle, had a close loving bond. Her and Carol were the oldest and best friends throughout life Together they all made a loving family for their children.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Edward Grenevicki on March 22, 2022.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Hazle Engle George and by her brothers, Clayton and Edward George.

 

Elaine is survived by her daughters, Lisa Nelson, Atlantic City, NJ and Suzanne Longo and her husband, Joseph, Hughestown; grandchildren, Joseph Longo, Hughestown, Rachel Longo, New York City and Taylor Nelson, New York City; sisters, Carol Wargo, Wilkes-Barre, Hazle Demillier and her husband, Clete, Wilkes-Barre and Linda George, Wilkes-Barre Township; brother, Lee George and his wife, Kathy, Knoxville, TN; numerous nieces and nephews.

Beth, Amy and Janie, you were always there for Aunt Elaine. She loved you all dearly.

 

Mommy, we will miss your love every day. Grammy, we will love you forever. Until we see you again.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.  Rev. Bill Birch and Rev. K. Gene Carroll will officiate.

 

Interment will be in Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Shavertown.

 

Family and friends may call on Monday from 9 – 11 am at the funeral home.
