Eleanor M. Zedolik

Eleanor M. Zedolik, 83, of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016, at her home.

 

She was born in Wilkes-Barre Township on November 12, 1932, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Petruska Grencavage.  Eleanor was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School.

 

She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.  Prior to its closing, she had been a member of St. Joseph’s Monastery in Wilkes-Barre Township.

 

Eleanor was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She was an excellent cook and especially enjoyed cooking for her family.

 

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, John and Joseph Grencavage.

 

Eleanor is survived by her husband of 64 years, Matthew J. Zedolik; and by her children, Matthew Zedolik and his wife, Sharon, Mountaintop, Michael Zedolik, Wilkes-Barre Twp., Stephen Zedolik and his wife, Kim, Wilkes-Barre Twp., Arlene Zedolik, Laurel Run and Thomas Zedolik, Wilkes-Barre Twp.; grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew and Christopher Zedolik, Mountaintop, Julie Fallon, White Haven, Abbie and Molly Fallon, Laurel Run, and Stephanie and Stephen Zedolik, Wilkes-Barre Twp.; great granddaughter, Magnolia Duffy, White Haven; sisters, Margaret Molitoris  and Arlene Grencavage of Wilkes-Barre Twp.; brother, Jerome (Jerry) Grencavage, Wilkes-Barre Twp.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday morning at 9:30 am in Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.

 

Family and friends may call on Thursday morning at the church from 8:30 – 9:30 am.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 613 Baltimore Drive, Suite 3, Wilkes-Barre, PA  18702.
