Fe’ Elizes Cabuso-Stack
April 24, 2023

Fe’ Elizes Cabuso-Stack, 92, of Mary Queen of Angels Assisted Living Center in Nashville, TN, passed away on April 24, 2023.  She was born on January 8, 1931, to Sisenando and Luz Elizes Cabuso in Vinzons, Daet, Camarines Norte, Philippines.  She received her pre-med degree from the University of the Philippines in Quezon City and pursued a medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas Medical School.  In 1955, she was accepted to do an internal medicine internship in Fall River, MA.  She continued her internship in Norwich, CT, where she decided to pursue psychiatry.  She continued her residency in Danville, PA, where she met Dr. Philip Lawrence Stack, and on January 25, 1958, they were married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Danville.  Dr. Cabuso-Stack’s career in psychiatry involved working at psychiatric hospitals in Pennsylvania, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Washington state.  She loved attending her children’s school events, community plays and concerts, and being involved with Filipino-American gatherings wherever she went, and she encouraged her whole family to participate.  After retirement, she and her husband loved traveling to visit family around the country, were involved in senior citizen groups and served as ombudsmen in nursing homes.  Her life was characterized by her devotion to the Lord and prayer, lots of laughter, humility, patience, compassion for others, including the patients in her psychiatric practice, unswerving devotion to family, and an impeccable memory for details.  Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren, and she had tons of photos to show them off whenever she could.

Dr. Cabuso-Stack is survived by her brother, Eduardo Cabuso, and children Gregory, Lawrence, Philip, Lucille (Schrum), Frederick, and Robert, grandchildren Carrie High, Michael Kelley, Grady, Laura (Reid), Andrew, Emily, Taylor (Pyle), Meredith (Carter), Lindsey, Joshua, Elijah, Jaclyn, Madison, Tatum, Kiya (Miller), Riley, Caston, Jayden, Brooklyn, and Kennady, and great-grandchildren Trey, Isla, Clark and Stephanie.
