Obituaries » Floyd Harrison Chappel March 16, 2023 Floyd Harrison Chappel March 16, 2023 Floyd H. Chappel, 59 of Pocono Springs passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 16, 2023. He was born in Kingston, the son of the late Jack H. and Louise Chappel. He was a graduate of Northwest Area High School and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was employed as an electronics trainer at the Tobyhanna Army Depot. He cherished spending time with his beloved children and 7 grandchildren. He was a lover of the outdoors, fishing and hunting, photography, foraging and practiced great stewardship in preserving natural resources and beauty as evidenced by his committee participation at Pocono Springs. He was a talented musician and loved music. He had a true scientific mind. He loved working with technology, and passing that knowledge on to those around him. He had a razor-sharp wit and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be deeply missed. Surviving are his wife, Laurie Mike Chappel; sons, Benjamin Harrison Chappel and Jack Harrison Chappel of Wilkes-Barre; daughters, Kristen Eby of Shamokin and Megan Chappel of Berwick; step daughter, Erica Perrin of Virginia Beach; 7 grandchildren; sisters Eileen Gewirtzman of Blakeslee and Jeanie Lee of Stillwater, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Floyd’s life will be held on Wednesday March 22, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
