Frank J. Kozielski

Frank J. Kozielski, 93, of Highland Park Senior Living, and formerly of Mountaintop and Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Thursday morning, December 8, 2022, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.

 

Frank was born in Wilkes-Barre, the son of the late Frank and Mary Wisniewski Kozielski. He was a graduate of G.A.R. High School, class of 1947. Frank attended King’s College and was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War.

 

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years by Boscov’s Department Store as Manager of the hair salon. Frank was a volunteer at Geisinger Heart Hospital and an usher at the F.M. Kirby Center. He also loved to golf and fish.

 

Frank was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had been married to his wife, the former Rosanne Saylor for 69 years.

 

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Rosanne, are his daughter, Nancy Vanderhook and her husband, Bob, Dallas; son, Thomas Kozielski and his wife, Olympia, Pasadena, Maryland; daughters, Lois Blockus and her husband, Gary, Laurys Station and Joan Mirra and her husband, Mike, Mountaintop; grandchildren, Laura LaMotte, Jill Casale, Kristen Alexander, Allison Kozielski, Marissa Blockus, Jared Blockus. Cindy Mirra, and Michael Mirra; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Brown, Tunkhannock.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 11 am in St. Jude Parish, 420 S. Mountain Blvd. (Rte. 309), Mountaintop. Interment will be private in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday from 9:30 – 11 am at the church prior to the funeral mass.
