Obituaries » Helen Mateyu April 18, 2023 Helen Mateyu April 18, 2023 Helen Mateyu, 100, formerly of Mountain Top, passed away on April 18, 2023 at Allied Services Center City Skilled Nursing, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Nanticoke, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Kauffman Yesulaitis. Prior to retiring, Helen was employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry, having worked at Pioneer Manufacturing & Woodbury. She was a member of the International Garment Workers Union. Helen was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph and Thomas Yesulaitis and by her sisters, Mary Truss and Beatrice Dankovitch. Surviving are her son Kenneth and his wife JoAnn of Mountain Top; granddaughter Heather Phillips and her husband David of White Haven, great grandchildren Joshua Phillips, Jeffery Phillips and his wife, Samantha, and Jaeson Phillips and his fiance`, Jeannette, nieces and nephews. Helen’s family would like to thank the staff at Allied Services Center City Skilled Nursing for the loving care she received. Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Township. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
