Obituaries » Isabel Zoepke April 16, 2023 Isabel Zoepke April 16, 2023 Isabel Zoepke, 89, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the River View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Plains Township. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late John and Isabel Bowers Maloney. Isabel attended Wilkes-Barre Township High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years as an aide helping young children in child development. Isabel enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, friends and her cat, Penny. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Zoepke in 2018. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Timmy, Billy, George, Elmer, John and Ronnie Maloney and by her sisters, Sara Maloney and Rita Stajewski. Isabel is survived by her children, Barbara Nixdorf, Wilkes-Barre, William Scott Zoepke and his wife, Melanie, Columbus, OH and Kathleen Kauffman and her husband, Kraig, Paxton, Illinois; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Rev. J. Duane Gavitt will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 am on Friday at the funeral home.
