Jean Louise Roberts

Jean Louise Roberts, 65, formerly of Kingston, passed away on Tuesday in The Gardens at East Mountain, Plains Township.


She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Betty J. Casterline Roberts and the late John N. Roberts.  Jean was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, class of 1971.  Prior to her retirement, she had been employed for many years for TV Guide.


Jean was a member of the Meade Street Baptist Church in Wilkes-Barre.


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, John Howard Roberts and by a niece and nephews.


She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Craig Roberts and his wife, Florence, Wilkes-Barre, Nancy Roberts, Florida, Louis Roberts and his wife, Jean, Wyoming, David Roberts and his wife, Ann Marie, Wilkes-Barre, Bette Lou Sartini and her husband, John, Swoyersville and Leslie McElwee and her husband, William, Easton; nieces and nephews.


Jean’s family would like to thank the entire staff at the Gardens at East Mountain for the devoted care that they provided and they would especially like to thank her roommate, Sandy, for the love and care that she gave to Jean for the past 8 years.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.  Pastor Chester Dudick will officiate.  Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park, 8th St Wyoming, PA 18644.


Friends may call on Friday from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Meade Street Baptist Church, 50 S. Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA  18702.
