Jean M. Riccetti

Jean M. Riccetti, 87, a lifelong resident of Wilcox Street in Plains, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 in Allied Services Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.

 

She was born in Plains, a daughter of the late Anthony and Frances Popko Slabacheski.  Jean was a graduate of Plains Township High School.  She was formerly employed at Leslie Fay in Plains Township and the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, prior to her retirement.

 

Jean was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church in Plains.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Riccetti Sr. in 1989 and by her son, Edmund Ricetti Jr. in 2003.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Peter Slabacheski, Edward Slabe and Anthony Slabacheski.

 

Jean is survived by her son, Mark Riccetti and his wife, Cathy, Plains and by her grandson, Mark Riccetti Jr. and his wife, Anne, Wyoming; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Slabacheski, MA; nieces and nephews, Anthony Slabacheski, Lisa
Anderson, James Slabacheski, Bonnie Bidwell and Sandra Slabacheski.

 

Jean’s family would like to thank her Dr. Frank Olshemski for the many years that he cared for her and Dr. Georges Chamoun for his life saving surgery that allowed her to live for 4 more years, the staff at Allied Services Hospice for their care and all of her dear friends for their love and support.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 am in Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains.  Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery, Plains.

 

Family and friend may call from 9 – 10 am on Wednesday at the Church.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
