John Gosciewski

John Gosciewski, 74 of Hanover Township, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

 

He was born in Wilkes-Barre on September 3, 1943, the son of the late John and Nancy Diamanti Gosciewski.

 

John was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School class of 1961, and he attended Penn State University, Wilkes-Barre Campus.

 

Prior to retiring, John was employed for 50 years as a plant manager at the Penn Refrigeration Service Corp, Hanover Township.  He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre.

 

John was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop William J. Haffey Assembly and a member of Wilkes-Barre Knights of Columbus Council 302.  He was active for more than 30 years with the Hanover Township Cub Scout Pack 66, serving as a scout master.  John also served as president of the Holy Rosary Federal Credit Union and he was a committee member for the Dr. George P. Moses Wyoming Valley Senior All-Star Classic.

 

Surviving are his wife, Regina Dutt Gosciewski with whom he would have celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary on November 23, 2018; son, John Gosciewski and his wife, Jennifer of Bear Creek; granddaughter, Alyvia Gosciewski; nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church, Division & Barney Streets, Wilkes-Barre.

 

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.

 

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Center, 2010 Adams Avenue, Scranton, PA  18509.
