Carmen,I can't tell you how sad and sorry i am. Working with John at Sallie Mae was truly a joy. One of my regrets in life is that i lost touch with you and John. when i saw the two of you,it always lifted my spirits. I will never forget our many political conversations. John would always call me and say :"hello my republican friend" He was truly a ray of sunshine, and he will be missed. All my love and prayers go out to you. Chris

Kahui family - We are so sorry for your loss. We are equally sad that we were never able to have the pleasure of meeting such a wonderful man. Hold on to those precious memories and the happy legacy that he has left behind. Our love and prayers go out to his beautiful wife, daughter and grand daughter.

Carmen, I was shocked & saddened to see John's passing in the paper. I really liked working with both of you at Sallie Mae. I can remember the wedding of a former employee that a bunch of us were invited to & how personable & funny John was at the wedding. He was great on the dance floor. My thoughts & prayers are with you, Amelia & your granddaughter along with the rest of John's family in the US & Africa. God Bless. Heidi

Carmen and family, I am so sad to read of John's passing. Although I haven't seen him since I left Sallie Mae to be a stay at home mom, he will always hold a special place in my heart. John's kind, gentle nature, brilliant smile, and love of laughter will always be remembered. May God bless you at this difficult time, Carmen. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Rest in peace, John.

Though John and I only met briefly, I found him to be kind, patient, funny, and very thoughtful. I surely would have valued his on-going friendship over the months and years to come, but no longer have the opportunity. My loss is small compared to that of his family and longstanding friends. Deep peace to all. Godspeed John, and thank you.
