John M. Woytas, 76, of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre.
He was born in Laurel Run, a son of the late Joseph and Ellen Wildes Woytas. John attended Wilkes-Barre Township High School. Prior to his retirement he was self employed as a tractor trailer driver. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Monastery in Wilkes-Barre Township, prior to its closure.
John was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, John Woytas and by his daughter-in-law, Carol Woytas and his brother, Joseph Woytas.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Agnes Goyne Woytas and by his children, John J. Woytas, White Haven, Georgeann Drust, Wilkes-Barre Twp. and Melissa Magda and her husband, John J., Wilkes-Barre Twp.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Amber, Colleen and Benjamin Woytas and Sara and Nicholas Drust; great granddaughter, Carolyn Woytas; sister, Ellen Evans, Glen Lyon; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 9 am in the Chapel of Little Flower Manor, 200 South Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends attending the Mass are asked to go directly to Little Flower Manor on Monday.
Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 -4 pm at the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
