Joseph E. Sobeck

May 3, 1944 - March 18, 2022

Joseph E. Sobeck,77, of Wilkes-Barre Twp. Passed away Friday March 18, 2022 at Post Acute Care Hospital in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was born in Kingston to the late Joseph J. and Regina C. Chmielewski Sobeck.  Joseph graduated from E.L. Meyers High School, class of 1962 prior to enlisting in the Army Reserves, serving with the 365^th Engineering Co. He was employed with Pomeroy’s and Bon-Ton in the warehouse for 41 years.   Joseph was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre.  He was a 3^rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, council 302 and there bowling league.

 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary Johann Kinsel Sobeck, sister, Catherine Folk, and his adopted family Sunil, Ancy, Neah, and Nikisha Lukose.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday March 22, 2022 at Our Lady of Hope Parish 40 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, PA.  Family and friends may call from 9:00 am until time of service at the church.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming.
