Joseph J. Kuranovich, Jr.

Joseph J. Kuranovich, Jr., 57, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Kingston Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.


He was born in Swoyersville, a son of Rosemary Glaush Kuranovich of Swoyersville and the late Joseph J. Kuranovich, Sr.  Joseph was a 1981 graduate of Bishop O’Reilly High School in Kingston. He had previously been employed as a operation manager for Mid-State Lumber, Kingston.


Joseph was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Wilkes-Barre. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing with Pee Wee, and he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.


Surviving are his wife, Roberta “Bobbie” Tomczak Kuranovich, Wilkes-Barre; daughter, Krystal McCoy and her husband Jeff, Pittston; brother Dave Kuranovich, Swoyersville; and 6 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be on Monday at 9:30 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 am in Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.


Friends may call on Sunday from 2 – 4 pm at the funeral home.
