Joseph Krasnahill, 68, of Wapwallopen, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Joe was born in Wilkes-Barre Township, the son of the late Joseph M. and Elsie Sigo Krasnahill. He attended Wilkes-Barre Township schools until his senior year in high school when he transferred to Berwick High School. He was a 1973 graduate of Berwick High School. Joe was employed for many years at Wise Potato Chips. He was a member of St. Mary Our Lady of Help Christian Church in Wapwallopen.

As a young man, Joe volunteered sandbagging the dikes during the Agnes Flood of 1972. He was featured in “The Wrath of Agnes” book. Joe loved animals, especially his cats.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Krasnahill.

Surviving are numerous cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10 AM in St. Mary Our Lady of Help Christian Church, 3529 St. Mary’s Rd., Wapwallopen. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Family and friends are requested to meet at the church from 9:30-10 am.
