Karl Wilk, 77, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021.


Karl was born in Wilkes-Barre. He was the son of Andrew and Jennie Kraintz Wilk. He attended of Coughlin High School and Tunkhannock Area Schools and graduated from the Wilkes-Barre Welding School. Karl was a member of Teamsters 401, having been employed as a truck driver for many years by North Penn Transfer, prior to his retirement.  He and his wife owned and operated the Oxford Inn in Lee Park and Church Hill Family Restaurant in Hazelton.


Karl was a Free Mason and a member of the King David Lodge No. 763,  F.&A.M., Kingston. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and being in the outdoors.


Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Alice White Wilk; children, Sharon Wilk, Hanover Township; Jennifer Russell and her husband, Gary, Florida; Karla Hyman and her husband, Kevin, West Wyoming; and Karl Wilk Jr., Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Mark and Jeffrey Shovlin; Karissa Russell; Joshua, Rebecca, Joseph and Janelle Wilk; 11 great grandchildren.


Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Karl’s name to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612.
