Leonard T. Kaemmerer, 65, of Plymouth, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Saturday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre on October 10, 1952, the son of the Leonard R. and Josephine T. Tonart Kemmerer. Leonard was a 1970 graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, and he attended Wilkes University.
Leonard was a very talented pianist, who loved music, and he was a member of the American and British Liszt Societies. He was also a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Wilkes-Barre.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David Sulewski.
Leonard is survived by his sisters, Marian Sulewski, Mountain Top and Carolyn Kemmerer, Hanover Township; brother-in-law, Daniel Shilinski. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kara Zoeller and her husband, Michael, Kristin Valatka and her husband, Robert, and Leigh Ann Henry and her husband, Patrick, and by seven great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 9 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:30 in Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Courtdale.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 – 7 pm at the funeral home.
