Leroy Bruce Mrozowski

January 5, 2022


Leroy Bruce Mrozowski, 68, of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Allied Services Hospice in Wilkes-Barre.


He was born in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Frank Joseph and Loretta Mae Harrison Mrozowski. Leroy was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School where he excelled in track and field and was a member of the marching band. He was a class A machinist for Vulcan Iron Works, Culbro, and Walsh Tool. Leroy was also employed by HPG and Dupont Tool.


Leroy frequently attended Our Lady of Hope Parish in Wilkes-Barre. He was a member of a dart league and a baseball league. Leroy loved working on Harley-Davidson Motorcycles.


In life love is what counts because a person comes into the world with nothing but love and leaves it again with nothing but love. Leroy’s wife of 44 years, Christine, was grateful to have met her best friend and soulmate, Leroy B. Mrozowski, whom she was with since 1970 and married in 1978. Leroy was proudest of his two sons and his two grandsons.


He was preceded in death by his son, Cody Christopher Mrozowski, and by his brothers, Larry (Chut) Mrozowski and Charles (Gilley) Harrison.


Surviving of are his wife, Christine Grochowski Mrozowski; sons, Leroy Frank Mrozowski and his wife Erin, Hollywood, MD, and Jesse James Mrozowski, Seattle, WA; grandsons, Leroy Robert and Jude Christopher Mrozowski; brothers-in-law, Larry Grochowski and his wife Wanda, Mike Grochowski and his wife Dianne; sisters-in-law, Cathy Stevens and her husband Jack, Helen Toscano and her husband Joe, Jean Kwarcinski and her husband Ed, Ann Kingston, Tressa Joseph and her husband Andrew Durante; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.


Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.  Rev. J. Duane Gavitt officiated.  Interment was in St. Mary’s Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Leroy’s name to Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
