Lillian D. Jimison

Lillian D. Jimison, 92, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on Friday January 21, 2022 at Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing in Wilkes-Barre.

 

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late August and Anna Poderis Cerwonka.  Lillian was a 1947 graduate of St. Nicholas High School in Wilkes-Barre.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Sears Department Store in the Wyoming Valley Mall.

 

Lillian was a devout Catholic and member of St. Nicholas Church in Wilkes-Barre.  She loved sewing, quilting, gardening, birdwatching and a good game of Scrabble. Most of all Lillian loved and cherished her family.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Edward V. Jimison Sr. in 2015.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Theresa Dokas and her brother, Clement (Bud) Cerwonka.

 

Lillian is survived by her daughter Susan T. (Robert) Klug of Larksville, James M. (Jo) Jimison of Hanover Township, Edward V. (Terri) Jimison Jr. of Greenwood, CA and Michael J. (Christine Boerner) Jimison, of Huntingdon Valley, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and nieces/nephews.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 am in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.

 

Friends may call from 5 – 7 pm on Thursday at the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre and on Friday from 9 – 10 am at St. Nicholas Church.

 

Memorial donations may be made to the National Audubon Society (audubon.org).
