Linda Jane (Thomas) Blaum

Linda Jane (Thomas) Blaum, 83, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. was welcomed into God’s hands, Wednesday afternoon, April, 21, 2021.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a beautiful Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She was the daughter of the late William and Mignonette (Reilly) Thomas.

A graduate of Kingston High School, Linda, know by her middle name (Jane), was a best friend, confident, and favorite person to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She was a beautiful, smart, strong, and loving Irish, Welsh, Scottish and English woman who treated everyone around her as family.  She leaves behind her beautiful smile, quirky wit, words of wisdom, but most of all, her strong ability to leave a warm feeling within the hearts of everyone she meets.  To know Jane was to know that good people truly still do exist in the world.

Jane was employed as a telephone operator with the Jet Telephone Answering Service.  Her many activities/interests included:  Evergreen Cemetery (secretary); Wilkes-Barre Girls Softball League; genealogy research; crafting; family game night, and most of all Queen of Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles J. (Skip) Blaum, November 14, 2000.  For 15 years prior to her husband’s passing, Linda Jane was a dedicated, selfless, and compassionate caregiver who never left Charles’ side.  Sisters, Ruth Szela, Mignonette Heenan.  Brothers, Richard, William, John, and Dan Thomas.

Surviving are her brother, Robert Thomas, Kingston, PA.   Son, Charles W. Blaum and spouse Mark Way, Carrollton, Texas.  Daughters, Linda M. Beckham and partner Charles Vibbert, Leonard, Texas; Sharon L. Hixson and spouse Scott J. Hixson, Lakewood, California; Jacqueline A. Felder and spouse Sanford Felder, Ocala, Florida; Annee L. Blaum, Cupecoy, St. Maarten; Carolyn J. Richardson, Wilkes-Barre, Pa; Gwendolyn G. Blaine and spouse Richard Blaine, Shavertown, Pa.

Grandchildren, Isabelle Smith and spouse Bethany Wheeler; Gretna Jane Jones and spouse Tony Jones, step-grandson Matthew Beckham; step-grandson Michael Hixson; Cara Ann Felder and fiancé Nick Turro; Anna Dombroski Miller; Paul Dombroski, III; Peter Dombroski and spouse Mindy Gentilesco Dombroski; Bobbielynn Richardson; William Richardson; Kaitlyn Reading and spouse Connor Reading; Hannah Raineri; Holly Raineri.

Great-Grandchildren, Tory Smith; Jackson, Weston, and Hudson Jones; Sofia and Henry Dombroski; Damien Reading.

Many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Monday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 128 N. Pioneer Ave., Shavertown, Pa.

Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Keystone Mission and the Luzerne County SPCA.
