Louis A. Scarantino

Louis A. “Papa Louie” Scarantino, 73, of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away at home on Monday, December 24, 2018.

 

He was born in Pittston, a son of the late Nicholas J. and Claire DaDamo Scarantino. Louis was a graduate of Los Angeles School of Mortuary Science and Wilkes-University. He was formerly employed by the Lamb Funeral Home in Pasadena, CA. Louis was also employed for many years by Yum Brands as a food safety specialist and district manager for Taco Bell. He loved to travel with his family.

 

Louis was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Marie Scarantino Sieminski.

 

Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Linda Ciavarella Scarantino; children, Nataliya, at home, Louis Scarantino, Scranton, Attorney Michael Scarantino, Stevens Point, WI, Andrea Scarantino, New York, NY, Amanda Barber and her husband, Jeffrey, Port Charlotte, FL, Nicholas Scarantino, Waddell, AZ, Louie Scarantino, San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren; brother, James Scarantino and his wife, Wendy, Pittston; and nieces and nephews.

 

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Rev John. S. Terry, Pastor of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Wilkes-Barre, will officiate.

 

Louis’s family would like to thank Dr. Patrick Kerrigan, the staff at Residential Hospice, and all of his caregivers for their compassionate care.
