Margaret A. Coburn, 83, of Hanover Township, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.
She was born in Hanover Township, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Esther Cochran Mazeika. Margaret was a graduate of Hanover Township High School. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a unit secretary at Mercy Hospital and the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Margaret also worked for Dr. Alex Smith Jr.
Margaret was a devout Catholic and member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church in Wilkes-Barre. She was devoted to her faith and family.
Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Henry.
Surviving are her children, David Coburn and his wife Brenda, Bucks County, Ann Marie Centrella and her husband Robert, Westfield, NJ, Ronald Coburn and his wife Tammy, Edwardsville, Joseph Coburn, Hanover Township, Matthew Coburn and his wife Susan, Honesdale; 5 grandchildren; brother, Carl Mazeika and his wife Beverly, Bucks County; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Margaret’s family would like to acknowledge the exemplary care given by Dr. Patrick C. Kilduff, the nurses and the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart to both Margaret and her family.
In addition, the family would also like to thank the entire Geisinger at Home medical team, especially the committed and dedicated nursing staff and Dr. Houssan Abdul-Al for the professionalism, experience and compassion with which they treat their most vulnerable patients, the home-bound elderly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11 A.M. in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church, Barney and Division Streets, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hanover Township.
Friends may call at the church from 9:30-11 A.M. on Thursday.
