Margaret “Judy” Cronauer

Margaret “Judy” Cronauer, 72, of Tunkhannock, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.


She was born Margaret Judith Conwell in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late John and Kathleen McCall Conwell. Judy attended St. Leo’s School and then graduated from Meyers High School. She received her Associate’s Degree in business from Luzerne County Community College. Judy worked in banking, rising to position of manager, before retiring about ten years ago.


Judy dedicated her life to her family. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Joseph C. Cronauer Sr., and they had three children, Joseph Jr., David and Daniel. She and her husband lived in Tunkhannock throughout their retirement, enjoying their home and family as well as frequent trips to Canada to relax and visit their many friends.


In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Cronauer Sr., son, Daniel, grandson, Julian, and sister, Kathleen Adams.


Surviving are her sons, Joseph Cronauer Jr., Tunkhannock, and Dr. David Cronauer, Black Walnut; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Conwell, Broken Arrow, OK, and Theresa Fidler, Mechanicsburg.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 AM, from the Nat and Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hanover Township.


Friends may call on Friday at the funeral home from 6-8 PM.
