Margaret (Marjorie) Dorish

Margaret (Marjorie) Dorish, 98, of Plains, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021, at Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing, Wilkes-Barre.

 

Marjorie was born in Wilkes-Barre Township, a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Kostack Andrulavage. She was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School, class of 1940. Marjorie was employed in the local garment industry for 32 years as a floor lady at Leslie Fay.

 

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre Township.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Dorish in 2013; brothers, Joseph Andrulavage, John Banashefski and George Banashefski; sisters, Mary Kish and Elynore Banashefski.

 

Surviving is her daughter, Barbara Dorish, Jenkins Township; brother, Leonard Bantel, Wilkes-Barre Township; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

A special thank you goes to the employees at Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing (formerly Little Flower Manor and St. Therese Residence) whose special care and compassion made Marjorie’s extended stay pleasant and comfortable.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9 AM from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with Divine Liturgy to follow at 9:30 AM in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 626 Church Street, Wilkes-Barre Township, PA. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Dallas.

 

Friends may call on Thursday morning at the funeral home from 8-9 AM.

 

Those attending the viewing and service are required to wear a mask and abide by social distancing guidelines.
