Marvin J. Jayma Jr.

Marvin J. Jayma Jr., 63, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 in Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.

 

He was born in Wilkes-Barre, a son of Louise Duda Kubek of Wilkes-Barre and the late Marvin J. Jayma Sr.  Marvin was a graduate of Coughlin High School, where was an all-scholastic basketball player.  He later graduated from Luzerne County Community College, where he was a star basketball player and captain, winning two college championships, under coach James Atherton.  Marvin also attended Wilkes College.

 

Marvin was formerly employed by Kingston Dodge and Barber Ford.  He also owned and operated Medicare Concepts, along with his longtime companion, Maryann Habeeb, who passed away in 2022.

 

Marvin was deeply religious and a devoted church goer.

 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Marvin Jayma III and his wife, Irene, Charlotte, NC; and by his grandchildren, Acacia & Jacub; sisters, Cheryl Jayma, Wilkes-Barre Township, Dawn Jayma, Miami, FL and Karen Yale and her husband, Ronald, Wilkes-Barre; brother, Keith Jayma, Charlotte, NC; and by his nieces and nephews, Marion, Brooke and Emilio Jayma and Michael and Michelle Isabella Stallone and numerous cousins.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Pastor Chester Dudick will officiate.  Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Township.

 

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-7 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
