Mary A. Carr, 88, formerly of Regent Street, Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Wesley Village, Jenkins Township.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre on May 18, 1927, a daughter of the late James Patrick and Mercedes Faltz Kelly. Mary was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School. She was formerly employed as a sales clerk for the Sears Catalogue Co. and by Robert Hall Clothing in Wilkes-Barre.

Mary was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church in Wilkes-Barre.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Carr in 2003 and by a brother, Patrick Kelly and by her sisters, Kathleen Joseph and Peggy Jarvis.

Surviving are her daughters, Mollie O’Brien and her husband, Bernard, Mountaintop and Susan Williams and her husband, Patrick, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Bernard O’Brien III, Jillian Williams-Olsen and Lauren O’Brien-Kresge; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Aileen Stewart; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church, Barney & Division Streets, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends may on Wednesday at the funeral home from 5 -7 pm.
