Obituaries » Mary Eileen Kane October 23, 2023 Mary Eileen Kane October 23, 2023 Mary Eileen Kane, 79, of Dallas Township, passed away unexpectantly on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Joseph and Janet Corcoran Kane. Eileen was a 1962 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Wilkes-Barre and a 1966 graduate of College Misericordia in Dallas. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at Luzerne County Community College as an English teacher in the English as a Second Language Program. Eileen is survived by her children, Carl Mangold and his wife, Colleen and Sheila Butcher and her husband, Paul. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cali Grace and Kaitlyn Rose Butcher and by Carl Jackson and Chase Jesse Mangold; sisters, Mary Denise Stets, Judith Pomento and Janet Walsh; brother, Joseph Kane; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday from 5-7 pm at the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
