Norma A. Prenga

November 22, 2021


Norma A. Prenga, 58, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, after a long and courageous  battle with cancer.


She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of Margaret Mary Bly Kopiak of Plains and the late Norman Francis Kopiak.  Norma was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, class of 1981.  She was formerly employed in the Operations Center of First Eastern Bank and she was later employed for 23 years for the Social Security Administration in Wilkes-Barre.


She was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Church.


Norma was a loving and devoted mother to her son, Justin.  She loved walks with the family dog, Soily; watching the Hallmark Channel with her beloved cat, Rocky, snuggled on her lap; and going to concerts with her husband, son and friends.


Norma is survived by her husband of 26 years, Edward J. Prenga and by her son, Justin E. Prenga.  She is also survived by her brothers, Norman F. Kopiak Jr. and his wife, Candace and Andy Kopiak; sisters, Margaret Mary Rose, Many Ann Long, and her husband, Arthur, Frances Warnagiris and Emily Kopiak; mother-in-law, Pasqualine Cole; nieces and nephews, Julia and Sarah Warnagiris, David, Charles and Arthur Long, Christopher, Ryan, and Ryleigh Kopiak, Katie Rose and Pauline Mickavicz.


Family and friends may call from 8 – 9:30 on Saturday at the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 am in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
