Paul Vesek, 77, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 2, 2022, in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

 

He was born in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Paul and Margaret Oeller Vesek.  Paul attended E.L. Meyers High School.  He was formerly employed for many years as a truck driver, having worked for several trucking companies.  He was a member of the Teamsters Union.  He was later employed as the custodian at St. Boniface Church and School in Wilkes-Barre. Paul and wife, Rose Marie also leased and operated the Villa Grove Tavern in Wilkes-Barre for 10 years.

 

Paul loved spending time with his family and friends at there family place in Black Walnut, along the Susquehanna River.

 

Paul is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose Marie Weihbrecht Vesek and by his children, Paula Marie Bolton and her husband, Mel, Wilkes-Barre, Paul Vesek, formerly of Harrisburg, Dan Vesek and his wife, Kim, Etters, Jeff Vesek and his wife, Jessica, Harrisburg and Neil Vesek and his wife, Jennifer, Erin, NY.  He is also survived by grandchildren, Keith, Steven, Rebecca, P.J., Katie, Lilly, Tommy and William and by his 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Thomas and Maddy Shaver, Wilkes-Barre; and by nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.  Pastor Mark Weaver of the Wilkes-Barre Mennonite Church will officiate.  Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.

 

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 – 11 am at the funeral home on Saturday.
