Peter J. Morren

Peter J. Morren, 89, of Wilkes-Barre passed away on Saturday April 15, 2023 at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by his family.

 

He was born in Wilkes-Barre, the son of the late Joseph and Rose Emanuel Morren.  He was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School class of 1951and a graduate of the Wilkes-Barre Business College. Peter was an Army Veteran, serving the Korean War.

 

Peter was employed as a welder by Foster Wheeler and King Fifth Wheel of Mountain Top for many years, retiring in 1995.

 

Peter was a member of St. Anthony/St. George Maronite Catholic Church of Wilkes-Barre.  He was alao a member of the Knights of Lebanon.

 

He was preceded in death by an infant son and by his brothers, George, Simon, Anthony, Maroun Morren; sisters, Marion Morren and Sadie Sweinberg.

 

Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Rosemary Petro Morren; children, Susan Serra and her husband Frank of Hanover Township, Diana Loden and her husband Steven of Lower Gwynedd, PA, Michael Morren and his wife Patricia of Allentown and Peter Morren Jr. and his wife Michele of Larksville; grandchildren Frank III, Alexandra, and Nicholas Serra, Taylor, Steven, and Victoria Loden, Michael, Olivia, and Elizabeth Morren, Nicole and Maci Morren; and numerous nieces & nephews.

 

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with Divine Liturgy to follow at 11:00 am in St. Anthony/St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 311 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Adib Salameh will officiate.  Interment will be private in Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Cemetery, Plymouth.
