Regina A. White

Regina A. White, 91, formerly of Wilkes-Barre and Hunlock Creek, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018, at MountainTop Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

 

Regina was born in Wilkes –Barre on August 15, 1926, a daughter of the late Frank and Emma Niemeyer Herden. She was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School. Regina was employed as a secretary by Lazarus Department Store and Planter’s Peanuts / Nabisco. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Wilkes-Barre and a former member of St. Boniface Church prior to its closing.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, James White in 2007; brothers: Francis Herden, Paul Herden and Clem Herden; sisters: Emma Herden, Natalie Carr and Dolores Farrell.

 

Surviving are her children: James White and his wife, Ruth, Wolcott, VT; Linda Rogers- Jones, Harleysville; Thomas White and his wife, Joy, Sweet Valley; Gerald White and his wife Judy, Mountaintop; Paul White and his wife, Stephanie, Lake Elmore, VT; and Philip White and his wife, Cathy, Bear Creek Township; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sisters: Ruth Jones, Wilkes-Barre, Mathilda Farrell, Staten Island, NY; brother: Ralph Herden, Huntsville, AL.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday morning at 10 AM in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township, PA.

 

Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church on Tuesday morning.

 

Friends may call on Monday from 5-8 PM at the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.

 

Memorial donations may be made in Regina’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
