Regina Marie Baloga Escarge

Regina Marie Baloga Escarge, 99, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away at Allied Meade Street Skilled Nursing on Thursday, May 26,2022.

 

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Mary and John Baloga. She attended Sacred Heart School, Coughlin High School, and Wilkes-Barre Business College, graduating with a degree in Business Administration.

 

She was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper at Pocono Manor Inn, A. Rifkin & Company, Visiting Nurse Association, Schulte Brothers Plumbing and Heating, as well as in the admission department at Pocono Downs.

 

She was a member of the former St. Therese Church in South Wilkes-Barre for over 65 years.  She was active with the school guild, Bible class, rosary group, needlework group, church choir, St. Therese’s senior citizen group, and Reginas at King’s College.

 

Her volunteer work included many years of active service with hospitals, schools, churches, and nursing homes.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert in 1987, son James in 2002, son John in 2021, as well as sisters Marie Buzinki, Ann Wender, Margaret Halatyn, Scholastican Hovan, and brother John Baloga.

 

Surviving are her granddaughters Kimberly (Christopher) Keller and Jennifer (Thomas Sanders) Escarge; great grandchildren Julia Depro and Kaitlynn and Olivia Keller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 am from the Nat and Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 am in St. Nicholas Church, 226 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.

 

Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 8:30 – 9:30 am at the funeral home on Wednesday.
