Rita Morovinski, 90, a resident of Holy Family Residence, Scranton formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016, at the Holy Family Residence.
She and her husband, Hank, were married on May 9, 1959 at St. Aloysius Church in Wilkes-Barre. Her husband, Hank, died on April 13, 2001.
Rita was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late William and Lena Youngblood McCauley. She was a graduate of Meyers High School, class of 1943. Rita was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine and Exaltation of the Holy Cross Parishes. She served in the finance offices of Acme Markets, Forty Fort; Shop Rite Markets, Union, NJ; and she worked for over twenty two years, before retiring, at the finance office of Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre.
Rita was a beloved wife and aunt, and cherished her valued and loved friendships. She enjoyed travel, festivals, music, dinners, and was always ready to just be with her family and friends. She was known as someone who possessed great wit, and she also offered great wisdom, strength, help and love to all.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, William McCauley and by her sister, Theresa Doris.
Rita is survived by her two nephews, Rev. John Doris of Dunmore and Dr. Tim Doris of Milford; and by her grand-niece, Magdalena Doris of Belleville, NJ.
Ritaâ€™s family would like to thank all her special friends, all who helped her while at Allied Services, the staff of the Regional Hospital, and especially a great thanks to the Little Sisters of the Poor, and the whole staff at Holy Family Residence in Scranton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 9:30 am in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Her nephew, Rev. John Doris will officiate. Interment will be in St. Maryâ€™s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2 â€“ 4 pm at Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Avenue, Scranton, PA 18509 and on Friday morning from 8:30 â€“ 9:30 am in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Avenue, Scranton, PA 18509.
