Roberta Ellen Hughes Stritzinger

Roberta Ellen Hughes Stritzinger, 72, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

 

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy Cain Hughes, Sr. Roberta was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School. She was employed as a child care worker for the Child Development Council.

 

Roberta was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wilkes-Barre. She served as a foster grandparent at Dodson Elementary School in Wilkes-Barre.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Stritzinger.

 

Surviving are her companion, William Schinse, Wilkes-Barre; children, Jeremy Llewellyn and his companion Anna Hammon, Hanover Township, Elizabeth Spencer and her companion Phil Walker, Hanover Township, Robin McGuinness and her husband Gary, Plains, David Llewellyn, Plains, Steven Llewellyn, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Sierra, Ariana, Alex, Kiyana, Anya, Derek, Amy, April, Jennifer, Madalyn and Rylee; great-grandchildren, Isabella, McKenna and Ariya; siblings, Thomas Hughes, Plymouth, Howard Hughes, David Hughes, James Hughes, Carl Hughes, Vivian Ashton, Betty Jean Siley and Deborah Shaver, all of Wilkes-Barre; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 P.M. from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, Reverend Carol E. Coleman will officiate.

 

Friends may call on Saturday from 11 A.M.-1 P.M. at the funeral home.
