Ronald D. Shook

Ronald D Shook, 77, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 at his home.

Born September 21, 1944 in Washington PA he was the son of Sherman and Catherine Werner Shook of Wilkes Barre. A graduate of Meyers High School, Ron spent four years as a Radarman Third Class in the Navy, visiting the Mediterranean countries of Greece and Italy to name just a few. After being honorably discharged in 1967 with a Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal, Ron first worked at Roth American and then for over 20 years at Steamtown National Park, retiring in 2019.

After retirement Ron stayed home to take care of both parents while they were ill.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman in 2009 and Catherine in 2017.

He is survived by his sister, Carol Shook Skoronski and her husband, Thomas; niece, Deborah Skoronski Martin (Hank); nephew David Skoronski (Stacey); and grand nieces, Sarah, Leah, Samantha Skoronski, Julia Martin and nephew Joseph Skoronski.

Words cannot express the gratitude and thankfulness the family feels toward Griswold Home Care and care givers Mama Joy Manu and Kennysha Seaman-Bromfield for the devotion and loving care they showed Ron for the past two plus years. We would like to thank Erwine Hospice and the several nurses and care givers that gave so much care to Ron.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the and Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes Barre.
