Ronald E. Harris, 73, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on June 27, 2022, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Ron was born in Ironton, Ohio, the son of the late Alva and Velma Murphy Harris. He was a graduate of Russell High School in Flatwoods, Kentucky. Ron was employed for many years as a manager at Cook’s Pharmacy, Kingston, retiring in 2019. Prior to that, he had worked at Hecks Inc., in Athens, Ohio for many years.

 

Ron proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, having been stationed in Germany.

 

He enjoyed fishing and golfing, but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

 

Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Jo-Ann Korman Harris; children, Brent Harris, Ryan Harris and his wife, Nancy; step-children, Alyson Graham and her husband, P.J.; Edmund Gilroy and his wife, Stephanie. Ron will be sadly missed by his 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and cousin, Bonita Pemberton.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.  Rev. Fidel Ticona, assistant pastor at St. Nicholas Church in Wilkes-Barre, will officiate.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.

 

Friends may call from 4-7 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be may to the charity of the donor’s choice.
