Susan Kolesar Dennis, 97, of Sun City Center, Florida, died at home on March 15, 2016.

She was born in Plymouth, on July 9, 1918, the daughter of the late Anna (Wasill) and John Kolesar. Before retirement, she and her husband Jimmy owned and operated Jimmy’s Glass Bar, Restaurant and Night Club in Edwardsville.

Susan graduated in 1936 from Larksville High School and was a licensed beautician. She was a member of Prince of Peace Church, Sun City Center, Florida. She was also a member of the Italian Club, Unico, the New York Club and the Sacred Heart.

Susan lived a very active and full life well into her nineties. She enjoyed dancing, ceramics, bingo and reading. She loved going shopping and getting her many outfits on each and every morning even though she was staying home. Susan enjoyed entertaining many of her friends at home. She was an amazing woman. She will be remembered dearly by all those who knew her. She embraced life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy; brothers John, George, Andrew, Steven, Joseph and Thomas, all of Luzerne County; sisters Mary Woodidch, Pringle, and Anna Oats of Indiana.

She is survived by her brother, Michael Kolesar, of Indiana; several nieces and nephews, including her niece and caregiver, Marie Mihalos, Wilkes-Barre.

Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, March 21st, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church, 143 W. Division Street in Wilkes-Barre. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Richard Cirba will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Donations may be made in Susan’s name to St. Aloysius Church, the American Red Cross, or the SPCA.
